Zenith Bank Next NFF Sponsor To Drop Out After Being ‘Messed’ Up By Anti-Corruption Agencies

Zenith Bank PLC is the next sponsor to soon cut ties with the NFF and it’s for the strange reason that the company’s staffers have suffered a lot of harassment at the hands of anti-corruption agencies conducting investigations into the football federation.

Zenith Bank sponsors a national U15 football competition.

The bank has also sponsored basketball, tennis and golf among other sports.

A source told www.insideglasshouse.com : “The bank is very upset that it has been dragged into the investigations of the NFF by both ICPC and EFCC.

“Rather than the company enjoying the goodwill of all, some of their top staffers have had to appear before the anti-corruption agencies to state their own side of the story as regards their sponsorship of the NFF.

“They do not wish for this to continue and that the way to stop this harassment is to opt out of their sponsorship of the NFF.”

The NFF have already lost their biggest sponsors the Aiteo Group, which is also facing  a downturn in fortunes and as a result will not extend a five-year agreement with the football federation.

Coca-Cola will also be expected not to extend their sponsorship of the Super Eagles after they failed to qualify for 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
