Sanusi Sneaks In To Beg Sports Minister As Top Officials Come To His Rescue
After his gross insurbodination to the Sports Minister, tough-talking NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi (PICTURED) has now sneaked in to beg for forgiveness.
Sanusi severally turned down an invitation to meet with the Sports Minister prior to last week’s NFF Elections in Benin City.
He claimed he is not an employee of the Government and so not answerable to the Minister, while also boasting he has the connections to check mate the Minister.
The General Secretary was appointed by the NFF Executive Committee unlike previously, but the NFF themselves are a parastatal under the Federal Government.
However, it was a very rattled Sanusi who made his way to the Minister’s office yesterday to apologise profusely for his improper conduct.
A suspension was hanging over him as the Sports Ministry plans to embark on a forensic audit of the NFF Secretariat that he heads.
It was further gathered that former FIFA and CAF Executive Amos Adamu has assured Sanusi he will also beg on his behalf as he has the ears of the Sports Minister.
