NFF Fat Salaries Show A House In Full And Total Commotion
The salaries of top officials of the NFF, which is a parastatal under the Sports Ministry, have again demonstrated the anarchy in the house of Nigeria Football.
It is already public knowledge that the Chief Executive of the NFF Secretariat and General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi takes home a handsome $10,000 a month (More than 12 Million Naira).
How Sanusi came to enjoy this juicy pay package is a story for another day, so also the identity of the Executive Committee Members who made this possible.
Sanusi’s almost invincible deputy, Emmanuel Ikpeme, take-home pay is 2.5 Million Naira monthly even though the proposal at a time was for him to earn $7000 a month.
It was also gathered that the NFF Director of Finance, who is a civil servant, enjoys a monthly salary of about 1.5 Million Naira even though what the Federal Government pays him is far less.
The reasoning is to get his “full co-operation” in all financial matters at the NFF as everything to do with cash has to pass through him.
NFF Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire, is also on 1.5 Million Naira every month even though he is also a civil servant.
A top official recently confided in a friend “he’s not even grateful for this” and that could also explain why he is pushing to succeed his boss Sanusi whenever his controversial contract as Secretray General runs out.
The NFF Technical Director, Austin Eguavoen, is on 2 Million Naira a month, when the proposal was for FIFA to pay him $5,000 at the end of each month.
The Management Staff at the NFF Technical Department, who are all on contracts, pocket between a Million Naira and 750,000 Naira.
