FGN Probes Disbanded LMC

The Federal Government of Nigeria will probe the now defunct League Management Company (LMC), which has organised the NPFL for the past 10 years.

On Friday, the Sports Ministry announced the LMC is illegal and has been scrapped prior to the clubs themselves organising their competition as enshrined in the NFF Statutes.

The LMC is a private company, but the NFF, a Government parastatal, have the controlling shares.

Various allegations of corruption have been leveled against the LMC chaired by Shehu Dikko (PICTURED).

The LMC has failed to make public balance sheet and the dividends it has paid out to shareholders since it was in existence.

The company is also known to be hugely indebted to referees, other vendors as well as to staff members.
