Gusau Stands Up To Pinnick Before Stakeholders, Insists He’s Also Running For NFF Presidency

The battle for the next NFF Presidency will be very interesting after Chairman of Chairmen Ibrahim Gusau (PICTURED) sensationally stood up against the third term ambition of Amaju Pinnick when he told a gathering of FA Chairmen in Abuja this past week that he will be running for the NFF Presidency.

Pinnick told the same meeting in Abuja Thursday night he will be seeking a third term in office.

However, Gusau also stood up and declared his interest for the top post.

NFF Technical Committee Chairman Ahmed Yusuf ‘Fresh’, who the night before was vigorously canvassing for support for Pinnick’s re-election, told the meeting that a decision of who will be the next NFF President will be taken when the Northern Caucus meets in Kano on August 8.

The general thinking is that for geo-political balancing the Presidency should now return to the North after eight years with a Southerner, Pinnick.

He also narrated that Pinnick was not meant to be President in 2014 and four years later, Gusau ensured he was re-elected for a second term.

It is a well-known secret that Drama King Pinnick went down on all knees in Katsina four years ago begging Gusau to support his return as NFF President, while also making many financial promises to him as well.

Interestingly, Pinnick has now accused Gusau of not been loyal to him even after the many favours he has passed on to him.
