Pinnick, Yusuf ‘Fresh’ Beg Aminu Kurfi To ‘Take It Easy’ As NFF Cttee Members Ikpeba, Adepoju Say Peseiro Appointment Fraudulent

NFF President Amaju and NFF technical committee Chairman Ahmed Yusuf ‘Fresh’ have pleaded with Katsina FA Chairman Aminu Kurfi ‘Balele’  (PICTURED) to soft pedal after he called for a complete overhaul of Nigeria Football after Jose Peseiro was appointed new Super Eagles coach without the technical committee meeting to discuss this.

On Wednesday, NFF Executive Committee claimed they acted on a memo by the NFF technical committee chairman to endorse the appointment of Peseiro.

Kurfi has kicked against how the Portuguese coach was sneaked through the back door without an input from the technical committee of which he is a member.

His protestations came at a time that former internationals Victor Ikpeba and Mutiu Adepoju, who are also on the technical committee, coming forward to say they did not meet to decide on the appointment of a new coach.

Former Africa Footballer of the Year Ikpeba said the NFF disrespected the members of the technical committee with the false information given to the public.

Ikpeba said: “We were never told about the new coach. Maybe they carried the head of the committee along, but others are in the dark.

“The federation should learn to respect people. Many of us are not aware of the shortlist and the eventual decision to hire the new coach but to come out and tell the public that we endorsed the Portuguese is bad.

“It is fraudulent. They have the right to take decision, but that should not be hanged on the technical committee.”

Another technical committee member Mutiu Adepoju, said he was not aware of any meeting where the issue of a foreign coach was discussed.

“We have not met in recent times. Our meetings have not been more than two in over three years and the appointment of the new coach was never tabled for the committee,” Adepoju said.

“It is funny to hear that we recommended the new coach, but it is important to say many of us are in the dark.”

The technical committee also has Enyimba Chairman Felix Anyansi as Vice Chairman along with others like ex-international Dahiru Sadi and Akwa United Chairman Paul Bassey.
