Analysis NFF Statutes Update

NFF Executive Committee Don’t Have Power To Approve 2022 Budget

The NFF under Amaju Pinnick have again flagrantly abused the NFF Statutes 2010 by the announcement that the Executive Committee has approved the financial statement and budget for 2022.

The NFF Executive Committee does not have the powers to approve the financial statement and budget of the federation.

They can only prepare and present the budget for the General Assembly to approve.

Therefore the power to approve both the financial statement and budget resides only with the NFF Congress or General Assembly as the Articles 23 and 34 clearly spelt out the powers and functions of both the Executive Committee and General Assembly.

“Pinnick and the NFF have again raped the NFF Statutes by the purported approval of the 2022 budget by the Executive Committee,” an observer informed www.insideglasshouse.com

By the High Court order, which aborted the NFF Annual General Assembly (AGA), the NFF cannot as a result operate a budget for the New Year until they have set aside this ruling.

The total and continued abuse of the NFF Statutes was one of the issues retired footballer and board member of Nembe City FC, Seigha Obiene, raised with the Federal High Court Yenagoa division.

The case will resume on January 10, 2022.
