“How I wish this guy does not hold an exalted office, this is someone that does not invest a dime of his into the game and grandstanding with taxpayers’ money. I dare him again to pull his team out. Enough of this rubbish! Deputy

“We all know how Insurance got to where they are. The chairperson of the referees’ appointment committee, Faith Irabor, is an employee of the Edo State Government, the owners of Insurance.”

He added: “That was how they came to Remo two seasons ago and assaulted our CEO. Why did he tell us what led to the fracas he was referring to?

“They have come to Remo this season and got a draw and nothing happened.”

The Deputy Governor has been thrust into the mainstream of Nigeria football politics since the emergence of Ibrahim Gusau as NFF President.

He has even been nicknamed  “The new Sheriff of Nigeria Football” as a result.
