NFF President Meets Edo Dep. Governor, PFAN Reps In Benin City Over Court Case

Newly-elected NFF President Ibrahim Gusau is to meet with the players’ union PFAN in Benin City, where he emerged President on September 30, 2022, to explore possibilities of getting a case instituted by the players seeking for equal representation on both the NFF Executive Committee and NFF Congress to be settled out of court.

The parley is at the behest of Edo State Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, himself a PFAN member and who played a very big role at the last NFF Elections with the emergence of both Gusau and Aisha Falode.

PFAN will be represented by President Tijjani Babangida, Chairman PFAN Task Force Harrison Jalla, Rumson Baribote, Austin Popo, Edema Fuludu and Brown Ogbeifun.

The union has insisted on major reforms for Nigeria Football to move forward after eight disastrous years under Amaju Pinnick.

Gusau is widely seen as a bridge builder, but he has not got off to a good start as it concerns PFAN after he questioned how representative the union is and what structures it has in place.

The NFF Congress led by Katsina FA Chairman Aminu Kurfi ‘Balele’ already made first contact with the players on October 5 in Abuja.
