BLATTER: Infantino Wants To Destroy Me, Platini His Biggest Problem, US Govt Now Works For FIFA President

Former FIFA President Sepp Blatter, who at a time was the most powerful man in world football, has made a wide-range of allegations against his successor Giannni Infantino (PICTURED) as well as the role of the US Government in the global game.

In an exclusive interview with TRT World, Blatter, who headed FIFA for 17 years and is regarded as the man who transformed the world football ruling body into a major money-making machine,  alleged that Infantino has refused to speak to him and he hates him.

“He has refused to speak with me. He’s afraid to see me. It’s a shame,” accused Blatter, whose village is just eight kilometres from that of Infantino.

“It’s his character (to betray), he hates me and if you hate somebody, you will try to destroy him. But he will not succeed.”

Blatter said Infantino’s biggest problem is his former boss at UEFA, Michel Platini, who wants to be FIFA President.

Both Blatter and Platini were recently acquitted by a Swiss court of corruption, but that has been appealed against.

He said that appeal was to effectively stop Platini from running against Infantino at the FIFA Elections next year.

The 86-year-old Blatter further alleged that the US Government, which tried to fix the corruption in FIFA, is now working closely with Infantino after the country won the hosting rights for the 2026 World Cup, which it will stage alongside Mexico and Canada.

Blatter said he left behind $1.5 Billion in reserves and $600 Million in cash for Infantino to inherit.

He has not been invited to the 2022 World Cup, which kicks off in Qatar next Sunday.
