REVEALED: Pinnick Dumped Costa Rica Coach To Appoint Peseiro For Super Eagles

Coach Luis Fernando Saurez, who qualified Costa Rica to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, was all but agreed will be the next Super Eagles coach before Amaju Pinnick made an about-turn and hired the Portuguese Jose Pesiero (PICTURED).

www.insideglasshouse.com learnt that Saurez was recommended by NFF Match Agent Jairo Pachon and then NFF President Pinnick had agreed the personal terms of the Colombian coach and what was only remaining was an official announcement only for Pinnick to go back on this agreement.

Saurez, 62, qualified Costa Rica to the 2022 World Cup after he was appointed coach in July 2021.

The highlight ofhis career was when he led Ecuador to the Round of 16 at the 2006 World Cup, where they beat Poland and Costa Rica.

It is Ecuador’s best-ever outing at the World Cup.

He also handled Honduras as well as several top clubs in his native country of Colombia.

Saurez was in charge of the Tricolor to beat Super Eagles B 2-0 in San Jose Thursday in a final warm-up game before Costa Rica departure to Qatar.

“His CV is far better than that of Peseiro,” a top official told www.insideglasshouse.com

“This is again another proof that there are many things very fishy about Peseiro’s appointment.”

Peseiro is on a monthly salary of a staggering $70,000.
