Staff Rejoice As NPFL Moves To New Office At MKO Abiola National Stadium

Secretariat staff members of the defunct LMC rejoiced that they have been liberated from oppression after the Interim Management Committee (IMC) led by Davidson Owumi moved to a new office at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja this week.

The office of the disbanded LMC in Maitama, Abuja, remains sealed by the police.

Staff members of the NPFL were all excited with the recent developments with some even saying they can now go ahead to do their work professionally after they were pushed around by the LMC management led by Shehu Dikko.

The staff are owed eight months’ salaries and have functioned in very difficult conditions under the sacked LMC.

President Muhammadu Buhari gave approval for the scrapping of the LMC on May 25, 2022, but the Sports Ministry waited till after the end of the NPFL season to bring the hammer down.

Efforts by Shehu Dikko for this decision to be reversed have failed with the Federal Government set to open a probe to how the LMC operated in the last 10 years.

The IMC will temporarily organise the country’s premier league until the 20 NPFL clubs organise Elections to form a Board.
