Pinnick Hatchet Men Shehu Dikko, Ahmed Fresh Plot To Sell Tenure Elongation At Congress

The main hatchet men of Amaju Pinnick, Shehu Dikko and Ahmed Yusuf ‘Fresh’ (PICTURED), met on Monday in Abuja to plot how to sell an extension of the tenure of the current NFF Executive Committee at the NFF Congress scheduled for Lagos Thursday.

Shehu Dikko owes his Chairmanship of the League Management Company (LMC) to erstwhile adversary Pinnick, while the NFF President saved ‘Fresh’ from missing out on the Executive Committee in 2018 and thereafter appointed him Chairman of the powerful NFF Technical Committee.

The men owe their relevance in the polity to Pinnick, and will be out in cold by his exit.

It would be recalled that both men had also last month met with a dozen voting Stakeholders in Abuja to sell the third term agenda of their principal.

On Monday, the two men met in Abuja between 6 and 7.30pm to map out plans how they will get the Congress to endorse an elongation of Pinnick’s tenure.

They want the Congress to give Pinnick a befitting honour by allowing him time to organise a credible Election that will deliver his successor after he again made public his decision not to run for a third term.

They perfected who should head the NFF Electoral and Appeals Committee and who will raise the motion for the tenure elongation on the Congress floor.

NFF have written world football governing body FIFA requesting for an elongation of the tenure of the Pinnick-led administration till January 2023 after which fresh Elections will be conducted.

The terminal date of the Pinnick administration is September 20, 2022, as stipulated by the 2010 NFF Statutes and which the Federal Government of Nigeria has insisted must be adhered to.
