HARRISON JALLA PERSPECTIVE: Sacked NFF AGA – The Totality Of Seigha Obiene’s Action

Seigha Obiene, retired Footballer, Director of Nembe City Football Club of Nembe, Bayelsa State and member of Nigeria Football Federation, the applicant in suit NO. FHC/YNG/CS/133/2021 that sacked the NFF AGA slated for today 17th of December 2021 by Hon. Justice Isa Dashen’s order.

Seigha Obiene must be aligning with the position of the PFAN Task Force that called for reforms and restructuring of the current skewed structure of the Nigeria Football Federation.

Simply put Obiene’s prayers to the Court can be summarised as follows

(1) Whether Amaju Pinnick and members of his Board were validly elected in the NFF 2018 Katsina election in consonance with the relevant provisions of the NFF Statutes?

(2) Whether Amaju Pinnick (PICTURED) and his Board members election are valid having the following persons

(a) Shehu Dikko (Chairman of the LMC)

(b) Chairman of NNL

(c) Alkali Mohammed (Chairman of the Nationwide League)

(d) Aisha Falode (Chairperson of women Premier league) who participated and voted in the election for candidates of their choice?

(3) And whether the above named persons having been appointed contrary to relevant provisions of the NFF Statutes which stated clearly that occupants of those offices shall be elected can continue to run such offices in defiance of the relevant provisions of the NFF Statutes?

These are the issues for determination put before the Court by Seigha Obiene, all bordered on the provisions of the NFF Statutes.

We wait to see how these issues pan out in court including other pending and anticipated litigations.
