Has Ibrahim Gusau Agreed To Be Pinnick’s No 2?
One of the biggest posers in Nigeria Football today is whether strongman Ibrahim Gusau (PICTURED sitting left from Pinnick (middle) has set aside his ambition to be President of the NFF so as to be Vice President with Amaju Pinnick remaining his boss.
Gusau has always been known as the hatchet man for Pinnick with the two Anambra FA elections he oversaw as reference points.
It is also known that he played a major role for Pinnick to be returned as President in Katsina four years ago.
However, he has since said he will come out of the big shadow to lead Nigeria Football and even made known this to his boss.
Even at a time, he was tipped as the next NFF President with Rivers State FA Chairman Chris Green as his Vice President in a new political alliance cutting across the North and South.
But in recent months Gusau appears to have returned under the wings of Pinnick, who has been only too happy to appoint him as leader of delegation to the recent 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
Last week, it was also the Zamfara FA Chairman who represented Pinnick for the NFF presentation to the Master Plan Committee sitting in Abuja.
Questions have already been asked about Gusau’s capacity and the depth of his pocket to really actualize his presidential dreams.
“The plan now is that Pinnick will go for a third term as NFF President with Ibrahim as his Vice President to guarantee him the votes from the North,” a top official informed www.insideglasshouse.com
Another source said Gusau is only playing along with Pinnick and at the opportuned time, he will make his move to topple his big boss.
