NFF Ordered To Account For 1.5 Billion Naira AFCON Budget

The Sports Ministry has ordered the NFF to retire the 1.5 Billion Naira released to them by the FGN for the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon earlier this month.

The Super Eagles posted one of their worst outings at the AFCON in Cameroon after they crashed out in the second round to Tunisia.

The NFF have often complained of inadequate funding and late release of funds by the FGN for major tournaments.

This month, the NFF blamed the Government after the Super Falcons embarked on a pay strike to protest the non-payment of bonuses and allowances.

The Sports Ministry later straightened the record by stating that it only received the NFF application for funds for the WAFCON just two weeks to the start of the tournament.
