NFF Ordered To Account For 15 Billion Naira Released By FGN
The Sports Ministry has ordered the NFF to render a detailed account of the 15 Billion Naira the Federal Government has released to them in the past seven years.
The order was contained in a memo from the ministry signed by Permanent Secretary Ismaila Abubakar to the NFF General Secretary.
An official said: “It is no longer business as usual.
“The NFF have to be made accountable.
“They have not bothered to retire all the intervention funds and other monies the Government has released to them all these years.”
The latest intervention fund by the FGN to the NFF was 1.5 Billion Naira for the delayed 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
The Super Eagles crashed out of the tournament by the second round to Tunisia.
