The new NFF administration are desperate for a first major trophy and that explains why both NFF President Ibrahim Gusau and Secretary Mohammed Sanusi “packed themselves” to Algeria to cheer the Golden Eaglets all the way to victory.

Officials told www.insideglasshouse.com that Gusau was hugely disappointed when the Flying Eagles failed to win the U20 AFCON in Egypt even after they enjoyed a decent build-up to the tournament.

Eight months since his Election as NFF President, Gusau has yet to show anything of note, sparking talks that he is clueless and in general does not have the capacity to steer the ship of Nigeria Football.

Rather, the Zamfara FA Chairman has been junketing around the world – from Qatar to Egypt.

Gusau and his camp therefore believe a first major trophy would put Doubting Thomases in their place.

Will the Golden Eaglets win their first African title in 16 years to give the new NFF administration a much-needed reprieve?
