NFF Lose Biggest Sponsorship Deals

The finances of the NFF are again in complete shambles after their two biggest sponsorship deals with oil company Aiteo expired and they will not be renewed.

The Aiteo deals include one that covers the salary of the Super Eagles coach and other national team coaches as well as a 2.5 Billion Naira sponsorship for the country’s oldest club competition, the FA Cup.

Both deals were signed in 2017 and they were for five years each.

The sponsorship covering the coaches’ salaries ended last month and that would explain why the salary of new Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro will now be footed by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The company Aiteo has also suffered setbacks and is indebted to several Nigerian banks and creditors to the tune of over $1.7 Billion.
