The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the country’s players’ union, PFAN, has charged players to close ranks and not be divided by external forces.

This followed the BOT meeting Thursday.

In a communiqué jointly signed by BOT Chairman Harrison Jalla and Secretary Austin Popo read in part: “The BOT condemned in strong terms the anti-union activities of some members of PFAN masterminded by Chikelue Ileonyosi to form a rival body named All Nigeria Players Union and advised the group to re-trace their steps and not allow themselves to be used by external forces to distabilise the Unity and peace that has been achieved by Nigeria Players under PFAN.”

It also said efforts should be made to engage the members who formed a rival group with the aim of bringing them back to the fold.

The BOT further passed a vote of confidence on the PFAN executive committee headed by Tijjani Babangida and the PFAN Task Force.
