World football governing body FIFA have effectively fired Kano State Football Association Chairman Sharif Inuwa Ahlan as chairman of the NFF Referees Appointment Committee, www.insideglasshouse.com can exclusively report.
A circular from FIFA to the NFF has ordered that referees appointment bodies across the world should now be headed by a professional, which in this case would mean a retired referee.
Ahlan is not a retired referee and so too his predecessor Ahmed Yusuf ‘Fresh’.
The NFF will now have to appoint a new Chairman of the Referees Committee ahead of the new football season.
