Kawu Begins To Write Pinnick’s Script To Reverse No-Third-Term Bid
Former NFF Executive Committee Ahmad Kawu has begun to write the script for Amaju Pinnick to still rescind his public declaration not to seek a third term as NFF President.
This was after he claimed that Pinnick was wrong to announce he will not be seeking re-election based on the wishes of his family.
“The decision by Mr President (not to run) is not right. He has the right to go with his family but considering the level of achievements and progress made so far, Amaju ought not to take such a decision on his own,” said Kawu while strangely wearing dark-shaded glasses on national television
“Stakeholders will want him to stay despite all the challenges.”
Kawu also blamed “some disgruntled and irresponsible elements” for the multiple setbacks in the country’s football in recent times.
But most observers will fault Kawu’s claims with empherical evidence that Nigeria Football has rather regressed massively under Pinnick’s eight-year watch, from missing out on the 2022 World Cup to failing to qualify for back-to-back AFCONS in 2015 and 2017.
They predict that more Stakeholders like Kawu will be brought forward to sing the same song as Pinnick tries to go back on his word not to pursue another four-year term in office.
