Nigeria Football Heading For More Disasters With Sharif Inuwa Ahlan As Chairman NFF Technical, Marketing Committees

The appointment of Sharif Inuwa Ahlan (PICTURED) as Chairman of two of the NFF most powerful Committees, Technical and Marketing, has clearly shown that Ibrahim Gusau does not know the onerous task before him as President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
After the monumental havoc Amaju Pinnick wrecked on Nigeria Football in the past eight most forgettable years, the next NFF President ought to know especially after a year in office that he needs cash and results to get the country’s No 1 sport back on its feet.
The Marketing Committee will be the engine-room to attract the much-needed funds for a football federation that has been left in the red by the reckless mismanagement and misappropriation of monies by Pinnick and his greedy gang.
The Technical Committee will give the various national teams particularly the Super Eagles a sense of direction and purpose for them to deliver results.
Gusau has now handed the headship of these two key committees to his bosom friend, who does not have the requisite experience or track record for the job.
This explained why the NFF official marketing agent Bukola Olapade respectfully withdrew as a Member of the Marketing Committee headed by Ahlan.
The same ought to be the case with the Technical Committee as Ahlan does not have any coaching background or know-how to call the shots.
The rumours were on for a very long time that Gusau will gift his good friend, who did not even vote for him at the Elections that produced him as NFF President, the Chairmanship of the Technical Committee.
But a lot of people were left in more shock, when Gusau added the Chairmanship of the Marketing Committee to a stark illiterate.
It is said that Ahlan threatened he will join forces with Gusau’s main opposition Ahmed Yusuf ‘Fresh’ to fight him and so these unmerited gifts to the Kano trader.
Ironically, ‘Fresh’ as Chairman of the Technical Committee rendered it ineffective leading to the Nigeria’s still painful elimination from the 2022 World Cup and an underwhelming performance at the delayed 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
We should therefore not expect any miracles from these committees as Nigeria Football continues to groan under incompetent and hugely compromised leadership.
The NFF will not come out of the huge debts incurred by Pinnick, paucity of funds will mean poor and chaotic preparations by the national teams and as has been the case in the last one year, the results will be few and far between by the country’s various flag bearers.
