Eko Football Set For Sweeping Changes As Elections Hold Today

www.insideglasshouse.com projects that the political machinery of former NFF 1st Vice President Seyi Akinwunmi will be effectively dismantled today as there will be a complete change of guard at the helm of the Lagos Football Association.

Akinwunmi held sway as Lagos FA Chairman for 12 years with critics describing those years as “wasted”.

He will not be seeking re-election, but his stooge, and former President of the Nigeria Referees Association (NRA), Tade Azeez, will be roundly swept aside by a new movement led by Oki Fouad Ade.

A politician and former Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Oki Ade is from Lagos West Senatorial District.

For the post of Vice Chairman of the Lagos FA, former Head of Technical Committee Dotun Coker from Lagos West will be up against the proprietor of 36 Lion Football Club of Lagos, Liameed Gafar, also from Lagos West.

Gafar is projected to record a landslide victory.

There are two candidates for the post of Women on the board: they are Olayemisi Cole from Lagos West and Oluwakemi Ogunfuwa from Lagos East.

A total of 14 candidates have been cleared for the post of board members they are; George Ajibola Akinpelu from the Lagos Central Senatorial District, Ahmed Akintunde Tinubu from the Lagos Central, Olakunle Yusuf Fashola from Lagos Central, Damilare Ezekiel Orimoloye from Lagos Central and Moses Enitan Adebanjo from Lagos West.

The others are Abdullahi Nakelly Mikail from Lagos West, Akinyemi Idris Akanji from Lagos West, Osinaike Olusegun Olawale from Lagos East Senatorial District, Abiodun Adeoye Afeez from Lagos East, Ogunmuyiwa Jimoh Adeleye from Lagos East, and Sonibare Lukmon Abdul from Lagos East.

The rest for the Board membership positions include; Onadeko Adekeye From Lagos East and Moheed Adegbindi from Lagos East a former board member.

The only candidate for the lone position of member is Abiola Wasiu Ola from Lagos West.
