NPFL January 8 Kick-Off In Danger After Club Owners Kick And Fight Against Abridged Season

The Janaury 8 kick-off of the new NPFL season is now in real danger after the Club Owners outrightly rejected a proposal by the IMC that the season be an abridged one so that the calendar could fall in line with that in Europe.

In a social media post, the Club Owners revealed that 17 out of 20 clubs voted for a full-scale season and that is what should be.

However, IMC Chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye has also stuck to his guns that clubs who are not prepared to feature in an abridged season are free to stay out.

He said they have received the full blessings of the NFF for an abridged format so that the season will end in June and a new season kicking off in August.
