Akinwunmi Set To Be Named Remo Stars Chairman As Comeback Plan Gathers Momentum

Former NFF 1st Vice President Seyi Akinwunmi (PICTURED) has not given up on his all-consuming ambition to be part of the new NFF administration and that plot will move another level when he is appointed new Chairman of NPFL club Remo Stars.

The Lagos FA Chairman plans to head the body organising the NPFL and that way make his way back to the NFF Executive Committee as NFF 2nd Vice President.

Remo Stars owner Kunle Soname backed “political lightweight” Akinwunmi’s failed attempt to be NFF President in September.

It was rumoured that Soname donated as much as $250,000 for Akinwunmi’s Presidential campaign, that is outside the Millions of Naira that the Lagos State Government contributed.

It is also said that he enjoys the support of the Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, and this will be crucial for his latest pursuit.

Akinwunmi was NFF 1st Vice President for eight years, but his falling out with Amaju Pinnick lately nailed his ambitions.
