Can Pinnick Save NFF General Secretary Sanusi From The Sack?

Did former NFF President Amaju Pinnick (PICTURED with his hitman Mohammed Sanusi) fly all the way to India to talk things out with his successor Ibrahim Gusau particularly as it concerns the future of Mohammed Sanusi as NFF General Secretary?

Pinnick, Infantino, Gusau in India

The story is that Gusau has agreed a pact with Sports Minister Sunday Dare that Sanusi Must Go and major changes be carried out at the NFF Secretariat.

The several acts of insurbordination by Sanusi against the office of the Sports Minister are public knowledge with the highlight being the General Secretary turning down an invitation by Dare to meet with him just days to the NFF Elections in Benin City last month.

According to various sources,  Gusau has gone along with the wishes of the Sports Minister to do away with Sanusi.

Already major appointments at the NFF Secretariat have been concluded in the exit of the former Kebbi Polytechnic lecturer.

And the men in Gusau’s kitchen cabinet have also given their approval for a change of guard at the Sunday Dankaro House.

This cannot be good for Pinnick as Sanusi was his business partner for most of his eight years as President.

Sanusi was loyal to Pinnick and did all his bidding, even though there were some instances when Pinnick considered sacking the man, who became the General Secretary in March 2015 following the shock resignation of Musa Amadu.

Sanusi who can continue to cover up for Pinnick at the NFF and the former football federation boss could therefore not understand why this man, who worked tirelessly for a Gusau Presidency could now be the sacrificial lamb in the power play going on between the Glasshouse and the Sports Ministry.

Pinnick has told close friends that he worked well with Sanusi and sees no reason why Gusau cannot do same especially with a man from his own Northern region.

There are more amazing updates in this developing story in the coming days.
