Staggering NFF Travel Debts Force Sports Ministry, Kurfi To Help Out With Millions To Fly U23s To Tanzania

www.insideglasshouse.com can report that the mountain of debts that has submerged the NFF due to hotel and travel bills caused the Sports Ministry and Katsina FA Chairman Aminu Kurfi aka Dan Arewa to contribute Millions of Naira before the country’s Under-23 team could fly out to Tanzania to honour an U23 AFCON qualifier last week.

Yeno Travel and Tours, which has been arranging the travel of all NFF teams and officials since former NFF President Amaju Pinnick assumed office, flatly refused to advance a credit facility to the football federation due to how much they owe it.

The Sports Ministry therefore had to come up with 10 Million Naira, while Kurfi, who is also the Chairman of the three-man Task Force for the U17, U20 and U23 teams, contributed more than 20 Million Naira in cash before the travel agency bought tickets for the trip to Tanzania.

Questions are now being asked about what kind of sponsorship agreement the NFF under Pinnick entered with Air Peace for the national teams and why the huge debts from flight tickets that ought to have been budgeted for.
