New NFF President Shops For Replacement For ‘Blacklisted’ General Secretary Sanusi
The newly-elected NFF President Ibrahim Gusau is through his kitchen cabinet shopping for a replacement for General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi (PICTURED), who has been blacklisted by the Sports Ministry.
Gusau’s kitchen cabinet is led by ‘The Jagaban of Nigeria Football’and Katsina FA Chairman Aminu Kurfi aka Dan Arewa.
Others in this inner circle are FA Chairmen Sharif Inuwa Rabiu Ahlan (Kano), Nasiru Saidu (Sokoto), Yakubu Sarma (Gombe) and Porbeni Ogun (Bayelsa).
These close associates of the new President have already represented him in meetings with the players’ union PFAN as well as the Sports Minister Sunday Dare.
www.insideglasshouse.com has learnt that the President’s men are now casting their searchlight in the South for geo-poilitical balancing as their principal is from North West.
It was understood that despite his profuse apologies to the Sport Minister, Sanusi will no longer be welcomed at the Sports Ministry after he severally refused to honour an invitation by the Minister days to the NFF Elections in Benin City last month.
In a bid to maintain a cordial relationship with the Ministry, the NFF Executive Committee may now be forcedto replace Sanusi, whose $10,000-a-month contract ends December 2023.
