New NFF President Gusau Meets Sports Minister Today

Newly elected NFF President Ibrahim Gusau (PICTURED) has disclosed he will have his first meeting with Sports Minister Sunday Dare in Abuja today.

Fifty eight-year-old civil servant Gusau was elected NFF President on a four-year term last month in Benin City to end the eight years of Amaju Pinnick’s Presidency.

The Zamfara FA Chairman said in an interview with Eagle7 Sports Radio today that he has an appointment with the Minister today.

Experts believe that Gusau was not the Government candidate for the polls.

Dare has yet to congratulate Gusau and the rest of the new NFF Executive Committee on their Elections and the FGN was not represented at the polls.

This was after the ministry against the NFF going ahead with the Elections on account of a court injunction granted by the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

However, Gusau maintained he hopes to have a cordial working relationship with Government.

“We hope for a cordial relationship with the Govrnment through the Sports Ministry,” he said.

“We will work together so as to move Nigeria Football forward.

“We don’t want issues that will stop us meeting our set objectives.”
