Ahmed Yusuf ‘Fresh’ Weeps, Prostrates And Swears On The Holy Quran For NFF Post
NFF Executive Committee Member Ahmed Yusuf ‘Fresh’ (Middle, back with his old friends) openly wept, dropped down on his knees to prostrate and even swore on the Holy Quran to demonstrate his allegiance to the group of NFF Congress delegates led by Ibrahim Gusau.
It was after this extra-ordinary drama that it was it was agreed the Niger State FA Chairman could be accepted back to the fold.
At the last NFF Elections in Katsina in 2018, ‘Fresh’ was also openly overcome by emotions when he broke down and cried after he barely kept his seat on the NFF Board.
It was rumoured that it was this same group that was behind his public humiliation and this incident caused a huge rift between he and Gusau ever since.
This reunion in Abuja has put to rest the misgivings by the two friends.
It has also meant ‘Fresh’ has severed ties with Shehu Dikko, who until Friday morning was Chairman of the now disbanded League Management Company (LMC).
A big crowd puller especially when he was Chairman of the Referees Appointment Committee, ‘Fresh’ has been on the NFF Executive Committee for 16 years now.
He recently confided in a friend that he does not know what he will do away from the NFF.
The reward for the drama he acted this week is he will now be Chairman of Chairmen unopposed, and that means an additional four years on the NFF Board.
