Pinnick Dumps Shehu Dikko For Gusau To Be Next NFF President

Outgoing NFF President Amaju Pinnick (PICTURED with Shehu Dikko) has finally dumped his long-time ally and LMC Chairman Shehu Dikko and will now support Ibrahim Gusau to succeed him come the Elections on September 30 in Benin City.

Pinnick has opted for Gusau because “I cannot control” Shehu Dikko.

A member of the CAF Executive Committee and FIFA Council Member, Pinnick has to be very interested in who succeeds him because a hostile and ambitious successor could endanger his position in both international organisations.

This is a catastrophic setback for Shehu Dikko, who has been banking on the full support of Pinnick to replace him as NFF President.

An upbeat Gusau on Wednesday night met with various interest groups in Abuja to sell his candidature.

The meetings were at the Haris Hotel along Olusegun Obasanjo Way.

By the last count, Gusau’s campaign team said they already have 26 votes in the bag that should be good enough to take their man to the exalted post.
