PFAN Raises Fears Over No Statutes Amendment Before NFF Election

The players’ union PFAN has formally communicated to Sports Minister Sunday Dare its serious concerns that the NFF Congress may not amend the Statutes to expand both the NFF Executive Committee and Congress for a fairer representation as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a letter dated August 29, 2022, signed by Secretary PFAN Project 2022 Task Force Edema Fuludu and addressed to the Sports Minister, the union said the NFF Congress does not have the will to amend the Statutes as directed.

“We had agreed amongst other things that before (NFF) Elections will take place, our position in Statutes Amendments, Executive Committee and Congress membership will be addressed,” part of the correspondence stated.

“We have cause to inform you that the very important meeting may not be convened from the body language of the ‘Concerned’ Congress members.

“Kindly use your good office to call the leadership of the ‘Concerned’ Congress members to do the needful to unwanted confrontation that may jeopardise the scheduled 30th September Election.”
