Sports Minister Tasks Club Owners To Take Full Charge Of NPFL

Sports Minister Sunday Dare today in Abuja tasked the 20 clubs in the NPFL to take full charge of their league following several years of rut and decadence in the country’s top league.

He made this charge when the Club Owners paid him a courtesy visit at his office.

Dare made it abundantly clear that the League Management Company (LMC) is not known to the 2010 NFF Statutes and that the clubs ought to run their own affairs as is the case around the world.

Chairman of the Club Owners Isaac Danladi said they support the Master Plan Committee “100%”, which made far-reaching recommendations on how to reposition the NPFL.

The NPFL has been riddled by lack of accountability and transparency, lack of local interest as well as lack on integrity.

Some of the Club Owners in attendance included Kunle Soname of Remo Stars, Felix Anyansi from Enyimba, Emeka Inyama of Abia Warriors and Isaac Danladi of Nasarawa United.

The club chieftains were later hosted to a dinner by the Sports Minister.
