PFAN Demands Resignation Of Chairman, Member NFF Electoral Committee

The players union PFAN has demanded the immediate resignation of the Chairman of the NFF Electoral Committee Aikhungire Anthony Malik as he is a partner of the personal lawyer of outgoing NFF President Amaju Pinnick (PICTURED).

Malik is managing partner as well as Head oil and gas and dispute resolution in the law firm of Alegeh & Co.

Austin Alegeh (SAN) is founding partner of Alegeh & Co and the personal lawyer and friend to Pinnick.

The PFAN also alleged that another member of the Electoral Committee, Ransom Ariyo, is also closely related to Pinnick.

“They should both resign on the grounds of conflict of interest,” said PFAN Deputy General Secretary Edema Fuludu in a statement today.

“They have 72 hours to do so.”

The union said should they choose not to, it will petition world football governing body FIFA, NFF Congress, Nigerian Sports Minister as well as the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA).

Pinnick said on a TV interview last week that he will not “interfere but intervene” in the process of who succeeds him as NFF President.

Both the NFF Electoral Committee and the NFF Elections Appeals Committee have yet to be inaugurated.
