Sultan Of Sokoto Denies Support For Pinnick Third Term Bid

Prominent Nigerian religious leader The Sultan of Sokoto has not given his support for Amaju Pinnick (PICTURED) to remain as NFF President for a third term.

Last week, Pinnick claimed he has received the support of the Sultan as well as three State Governors to stay in office.

However, the Koguna of Sokoto, Danladi Bako, who is in the inner circle of the Sultan, has now shot down this claim.

“As a policy, the Sultan welcomes all Nigerians and foreigners alike and indeed all men and women of goodwill who come to pay homage and seek his blessings but does not endorse candidates involved in a political contest for office be it football or social circles,” Bako was quoted as saying.

“Likewise, the Sultan being a father to all would receive all people seeking his blessings but not endorse one over the other.”

 “Some people have cases with ICPC and EFCC yet they come to seek endorsement.”
