Mainasara Ilo Brags The Presidency Has Anointed Him Next NFF President
Former broadcaster and chief organiser of several major sporting competitions in Nigeria, Mainasara Ilo, has been telling anyone that cares that he is the incoming NFF President after he has been anointed by The Presidency accordingly.
“Mainasara Ilo wants to contest (for the NFF Presidency) and he is surreptitiously telling people he has support from the Presidency,” a source informed.
The former NTA sports commentator can boast of some serious connections in high offices and that would explain his appointments as chief executive for the LOC of the 2009 FIFA U17 World Cup hosted by Nigeria.
He was also a top-rank official when Nigeria hosted the 2003 All Africa Games in Abuja.
This will not be the first time that Ilo has taken a shot at the top office in Nigeria Football, but he has yet to get his name on the ballot.
The Sokoto-born administrator’s recent foray was in partisan politics, where he was named chairman of the political party APDA in 2017.
