NFF Congress Won’t Fall For Pinnick’s Normalisation Committee Plot – FCT FA Chairman Mouktar Mohammed

FCT FA boss Adam Mouktar Mohammed (PICTURED) has declared the NFF Congress will do everything within its powers to ensure there is no tenure elongation for the NFF Executive Committee led by Amaju Pinnick and also that Nigeria Football is not plunged into a crisis that will lead to the setting up of a Normalisation Committee.

This followed strong signals that the NFF Executive Committee is not favourably disposed to carrying out the recent directives by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Federal Government through Sports Minister Sunday Dare has ordered the NFF President to ensure that the 2022 NFF Elections is held in September.

The letter also instructed Pinnick to make sure that a Federal High Court restraining the NFF from holding its congress is vacated.

However, instead of obeying the government’s directive, Pinnick and his members are said to be secretly plotting for a FIFA Normalisation Committee which they believe will favour them.

Mouktar Mohammed has commended the intervention by the government because it will avert another crisis in Nigeria Football.

He also maintained that everything necessary will be done to shoot down any plans geared towards tenure extension for the present NFF Executive Committee members.

“I don’t envisage any FIFA ban at all unless the NFF have written certain letters to certify otherwise,” the FCT FA Chairman told Daily Trust.

“I see it as FIFA’s responsibility to strengthen the Member Association Governance Mechanisms to ensure timelines for elections are respected.

“I feel there is a deliberate attempt to create a crisis somewhere by some people that will lead to no elections and actualise a Normalisation Committee, but as congress we are working not to allow such.”

Mouktar Mohammed broke ranks with his fellow State FA Chairmen to make a presentation to the Master Plan Committee headed by Ibrahim Galadima towards major reforms for Nigeria Football.
