Akinwunmi Declares Interest To Be Next NFF President

NFF 1st Vice President Seyi Akinwunmi has now made it clear he will contest for the federation’s Presidency after previously telling close aides that he was “thinking about it”.

The Lagos FA Chairman told a gathering of Southwest stakeholders at the weekend at the Naptin Hotel in Lagos he will contest to lead Nigeria Football after serving for the past eight years as the No 2 man under his friend Amaju Pinnick.

He told the stakeholders he needed their support, the geo-political region should unite and should support his candidature.

However, it is well known that he is not in full control of the Southwest.

 The U13 Western Nigeria Intensity Champions League staged by Lagos was the platform for Akinwunmi to make official his ambition for a bigger office.
