SCANDAL! Money-Grabbers NFF Tax Clubs For Sponsored Aiteo Cup

Callous NFF are never far from financial scandals and the latest is that they have directed State FAs to charge registration fees to clubs who will feature in the Federation Cup, which incidentally is sponsored by Aiteo to the tune of 500 Million Naira a year.

The NFF in a circular ordered the State FAs to charge participating male clubs 50, 000 Naira each while female clubs will pay 40,000 Naira.

The NFF will receive 40% of these registration fees, while the State FAs retain 60%.

The Aiteo Cup blueprint had listed various financial incentives to these clubs and in the days when Coca-Cola sponsored this same competition, clubs enjoyed support from the sponsors in terms of equipment.

Experts say the registration fees is a way to put cash in the pockets of the all-powerful State FA Chairmen even after these same clubs pay them affiliation fees.

“This again shows how the NFF have degenerated,” a former top NFF official lamented to www.insideglasshouse.com

“Are we going forward or backwards?”

“And yet some people will still come out and say they are developing Nigeria Football.”

Questions are also now being asked about the true situation of the sponsorship deals the NFF under Amaju Pinnick have entered.

Kano Pillars for one have continued to cry out that they are yet to be paid the cash prize for the 2019 Aiteo Cup they won in Kaduna.
