Why Is Sports Minister Starving Master Plan Committee Of Funds To Sit?

The committee set up to design a 10-year developmental plan for Nigeria Football did not sit last month because the Sports Ministry which inaugurated it with so much fanfare did not release the necessary funds for it to do so.

The Master Plan Committee is headed by former NFF President Ibrahim Galadima on the personal directives of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Sports Minister Sunday Dare (PICTURED) has variously professed his unalloyed support for the committee, but strangely did not release the funds for it to sit and make its final recommendations on the way forward for Nigeria Football.

Some critics suggested that Sunday Dare, who himself has his own political ambitions, may after all not be fully sold on effecting major and drastic changes to the administration of the game in the country.

Some other observers have suggested that Dare may have given in to pressure and even blackmail by Amaju Pinnick and his board “not to rock” the boat.

“It appears the Minister has a double face, in one moment he wants Pinnick and his gang to quit the scene and in another breath, he could be seen romancing the same characters,” a top official told www.insideglasshouse.com

“It’s best to say his style is baffling and confusing.”
