The Fat Lie Pinnick Spun That FIFA Preferred Nigeria, Not Ghana At World Cup

It is understood that the Sports Ministry and by extension the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) went on full overdrive after NFF President Amaju Pinnick spun a big lie that FIFA preferred Nigeria to be at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar because they were unhappy with how Ghana “cheated” out South Africa in the previous round of the qualifiers.

Pinnick has always bragged about his closeness to FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

Sources said Pinnick was super cocky about Nigeria’s qualification to the World Cup based on the meeting he claimed he had with top FIFA officials, who were very unhappy about how Ghana reached the playoffs at the expense of South Africa and made it known to him they would rather have the Super Eagles in Qatar.

South Africa alleged several manipulations by Ghana to beat them at home and advance to the World Cup playoffs against Nigeria.

FIFA will eventually decide against South Africa after some delays.

The confidence exuded by Pinnick that Nigeria will qualify for Qatar 2022 was evident from his many interviews and utterances leading up to the playoffs against Ghana.

Among other gimmicks, he poked fun at the statement credited to former NFF President Ibrahim Galadima that “World Cup Not Birthright Of Nigeria” by insisting “qualifying for the World Cup is Nigeria’s birthright”.

He will also go on to plan for a big victory bash at the Hilton Hotel Abuja and even flew in on private jet a large contingent of A-listed entertainers for the party.

Unfortunately, there will be no such party…
