More Trouble For Nigeria As FIFA Declare VAR Machine Stolen In Abuja

Nigeria have landed in more trouble after the failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup as world football governing body announced the VAR machine used for the playoffs against Ghana at the MKO Abiola National Stadium cannot be found.

The VAR machine came in handy for several key decisions during the match between the Eagles and the Black Stars.

It first awarded the home team a penalty soon after Ghana opened scoring, before it cancelled a goal by Victor Osimhen when TV replays showed he was offside before he scored.

It was the first time VAR was used in Nigeria for an official football match.

The Super Eagles failed to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar after Ghana beat them on the away goals rule.

Fans then took the laws into their hands to protest the disaster when they went on rampage, destroying properties and threatened lives.

Nigeria faced a stadium ban and a hefty fine no thanks to the riot.
