Sports Minister, Pinnick What Becomes Of 2 Billion Naira AFCON Cash After Super Eagles Early Crash?

Did you know that the Federal Government of Nigeria released the sum of two Billion Naira for the recent AFCON in Cameroon?

The breakdown of this intervention fund was 1.5 Billion Naira for the NFF and 500 Million Naira to the Sports Ministry.

This was more than twice what the FGN released for the 2019 AFCON in Egypt, where the Super Eagles finished third.

The cash was released on a Friday and two days later the Super Eagles crashed out of the AFCON no thanks to a 1-0 win by Tunisia in the Round of 16.

The two Billion Naira was meant to cover the expected Eagles run all the way to the AFCON Final.

So, what now becomes of the surplus cash with both the NFF and the Sports Ministry?

Could that be why Sports Minister Sunday Dare has become very visible in football matters so as to justify this jackpot?

The country’s various anti-corruption agencies must therefore be alert to this latest flush of cash to both the NFF and the Sports Ministry.
