Court Extends Order Against NFF AGA Till Feb 7

The Federal High Court Yenagoa Division today extended its order against the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) holding their Annual General Assembly (AGA).

The NFF lawyers today demanded that the exparte ruling be vacated because the applicant does not have locus standi and also that this was a football matter and as such should not be taken to a civil court, which does not have the jurisdiction.

The court has now adjourned till February 7 to allow for the complainant to file a counter argument.

It would be recalled that last month, the court ruled on an exparte application filed together with a motion on notice in suit No FHC/YNG/CS/133/2021 brought by a retired footballer and board member of Nembe City FC, Seigha Obiene, asking for the NFF AGA to be stopped.

Honourable Justice Isa H.Dashen granted the restraining order on December 10, 2021, against NFF President Amaju Pinnick, the Nigeria Football Association, Shehu Dikko (LMC Chairman), NNL Chairman, NWPL Chairperson, the Honourable Sports Minister and the Inspector General of Police.
