AFCON JAMBOREE: NFF Excos Fly Out Tomorrow, Congress Delegates In Limbo

The Jamboree by officials for the 2021 AFCON has begun in earnest as the NFF Executive Committee will depart for Cameroon tomorrow enmasse, while members of the NFF Congress will have to wait with the hope that they too will enjoy the binge.

An NFF official, Ali Cairo, has already gone ahead to Cameroon to prepare for the arrival of the excos and some NFF secretariat staffers.

Chairman of Chairmen and Zamfara FA Chairman Ibrahim Gusau led out the Super Eagles squad (PICTURED) to Garoua Wednesday night.

However, shortage of hotel rooms in Garoua, which was largely caused by poor preparation by the NFF, has delayed Congress delegates from also joining the party soon.

The accommodation crisis in the Northern Cameroonian town has forced the NFF to engage an agent, while an arrangement for majority of the officials to shuttle between Nigeria and Cameroon on Super Eagles match days is also being considered.

Some vocal State FA Chairmen have already threatened a showdown should the entire Congress made up of 37 State FA Chairmen and seven other major stakeholders not be in Cameroon to cheer up the Eagles.
