Pinnick Brags: I Installed Motsepe As CAF President

In a futile attempt to justify his personal position that the AFCON be postponed or cancelled, egoistic NFF President Amaju Pinnick has, as is typical of him, boasted that he personally installed Patrice Motsepe as CAF President in March in Morocco.

Pinnick had initially shown interest to succeed one-time ally Ahmad Ahmad as head of African football, before his dramatic switch to contest for a FIFA Council seat.

Pinnick told a gathering of sports editors in Lagos this week that it was he who got FIFA President Gianni Infantino to put his full weight behind South African billionaire Motsepe as against the other aspirants.

He campaigned vigorously for the Mamelodi Sundowns owner and in the end, Motsepe was elected CAF President unopposed to replace the scandalised Ahmad Ahmad.

In the meantime, Pinnick has said in one breath that he is still “consulting” over a third term as NFF President, while in another breath he said he will not seek re-election because he now wishes to devote more quality time to his beautiful and wonderful wife and family.
