NFF Congress Threaten Showdown Over AFCON Jamboree

The NFF Congress members are threatening war should they all not be taken on the jamboree to the AFCON in Cameroon on the ticket of the NFF.

Again, like it was in the case of token allowances paid to delegates for the recently aborted AGA in Lagos, the state FA Chairmen of Kwara and Ekiti are the ones championing the cause for the Congress.

The Kwara FA boss told the Southwest Stakeholders that the plan of the NFF leadership was to take along 18 State FA Chairmen to Cameroon after 19 others were sponsored to the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.

The tradition has often been to take the NFF Congress delegates on such jamborees especially leading up to an NFF Election year, which in this case will be September 2022.

It is an all-expenses-paid trip for these delegates, which in turn will be converted to votes at the polls.

At the recent Southwest parley in Lagos, some of these delegates made it very loud and clear that the NFF leadership  must do the needful as it concerns flying them to Cameroon, if not they should be prepared for what they do not wish for.

NFF 1st Vice President Seyi Akinwunmi at that meeting in Lagos that even he himself was not sure he will be sponsored to the AFCON.
