Akinwunmi Chairs Southwest Meeting Over Marginalisation

NFF 1st Vice President Seyi Akinwunmi (PICTURED) will today in Lagos chair a meeting of the Southwest during which he is expected to kick against what he claims to be the marginalization of the political zone particularly by the all-powerful Northern zone.

The Southwest zone has Lagos, Oyo, Ondo, Oshun, Ogun and Ekiti State FA Chairmen as well as Nigeria Referees boss Tade Azeez.

www.insideglasshouse.com specially gathered that Akinwunmi has said Southwest has not been fairly treated in terms of top appointments by the NFF despite their commitment to the cause of the Amaju Pinnick administration.

Lagos, for one, has played host to the Super Eagles as well as Super Falcons and Falconets in various international engagements this calendar year.

Rather the North has “enjoyed” most of the pecks of power in the NFF as the countdown to the NFF Elections in September 2022 continues.

This parley comes as doubts have continued to grow over the NFF presidential ambitions of Akinwunmi himself.

One top source reported: “It appears he has given up his ambition to contest for the NFF Presidency next year.”
