Infantino Could Be Out As FIFA Boss Before 2022 World Cup Kick-off

Gianni Infantino (PICTURED) could cease to be FIFA President well before next year’s World Cup in Qatar should the two Extraordinary Prosecutors appointed by the Swiss Parliament to probe a criminal case against him be on top of the matter.

On Wednesday, Hans Maurer and Ulrich Weder were confirmed as new Extraordinary Prosecutors to look into Infantino’s criminal activities, where he influenced prosecutors to open cases against his predecessor Sepp Blatter and his former boss Michel Platini.

Should the two men be efficient and diligent in their work, the FIFA boss could be charged by September next year.

This would mean he will no longer be head of world football by the time the 2022 World Cup begins in Qatar in November.

Once docked, his position will be taken in the interim by Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa being the most senior FIFA official.
